Wedding
Konstantina & Giorgos
A white classic car and the sea

Konstantina and Giorgos's wedding, as my photographs keep it, starts in a bright living room with yellow cushions and a white orchid above the fireplace. Giorgos, in a white shirt and dark trousers, holds out his arm while someone helps him sort out his sleeve. Two men, one wrist, and the whole room's attention on a single cufflink.
A little later, in a paved courtyard under the trees, they walk together hand in hand between tall white pampas grass. Konstantina carries a bouquet of white and pink flowers and smiles, her veil trailing behind her, and further back two gentlemen raise their hands as if to applaud.
Inside the church, among columns and painted icons, Giorgos wears the wedding crown and the priest holds the glass of wine for him. He takes his sip, and behind him the guests watch with their eyes fixed on the glass.
Outside, a white classic car was waiting, dressed with flowers, with a "JUST MARRIED" plate for anyone who still had not worked out what the occasion was. They sat on the front of it and kissed, her lace dress spread across the paving stones.
The last photographs are by the water. Giorgos holds Konstantina from behind, her veil falling all the way down, and a little later, on a dusty rise among dry grass, they kiss while the sky over the sea turns pink.
