Elli & Teo

A pair of brown leather men's shoes, with brogue detailing on the toes, sat waiting on a green upholstered stool. It was Elli and Teo's wedding day, and those shoes were among the first details I photographed.

Elli, in a white satin robe, held a glass with something amber in it. A little later her hair fell in long curls over one shoulder, with a gold piece set in it. A woman stood behind her helping, and a few more women in colourful dresses were gathered around.

Teo wore a dark tuxedo, a polka dot bow tie and a small sprig of white flowers on his lapel. I photographed him with a lit candle in front of him and the guests soft and out of focus behind.

The frames I kept for the end are the black and white ones, lit from behind: Elli looking up at Teo from very close, and then a kiss, with the trees fading into the dark around them.
